AMC COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

RATIONALE:  Protecting the health of AMC singers, staff, and volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic is of paramount importance.  Choral singing—a group activity that requires breathing intensely in close proximity to one another—is one of the highest-risk activities for the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.  Therefore, the AMC Board of Directors believes it is prudent to adopt a vaccination policy that minimizes health risks to all.

POLICY:  Any person taking part in any Chorale rehearsal, performance, workshop, or audition, including singers, music staff, featured artists, and volunteers, must show proof of full COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccination before participation.  The only acceptable forms of documentation are:

  • The CDC Vaccination Record Card received when you were vaccinated, or
  • An Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Patient Vaccination Record obtained from ADHS

IMPLEMENTATION:  When an individual submits a 2021-2022 Season Chorister or Volunteer Information Form, or Contractor or Featured Artist Agreement, documentation of their vaccination status shall be presented to an AMC representative who will visually verify its contents, record the type of documentation (ADHS or CDC), and return the document to the individual.  AMC will not retain a copy of the document.

GRACE PERIOD:  Prior to the effective date of the policy, singers, teachers, conductors, and others who are not yet vaccinated may participate in AMC events by following COVID-19 prevention and mitigation practices specified by AMC at the event, including but not limited to temperature checking, use of masks, physical distancing, reduced contact time, and hand sanitizing.

Policy Effective Date: July 21, 2021 to June 30, 2022, unless renewed by the Board of Directors.
Revised Policy approved and adopted by the AMC Board of Directors on July 6, 2021.
